After leaving our previous web design agency, my personal blog, “My Happy Lists” was unfortunately stranded under their web hosting. And worst yet – it got hacked! It just goes to show how important it is to keep your website hosted somewhere trustworthy AND keep everything updated and upgraded.
To make sure this doesn’t happen to our clients, we have a policy of automatically upgrading our clients’ websites each month – at no additional charge. We hope our clients appreciate that we know what matters, and keeping your site safe and updated is our priority. We know some agencies will insist on charging to do this, but we believe spending 5-15 minutes a month is a great way to say, “Thank you for continuing to do business with us.” Like they say – actions speak louder than words.
I was finally able to spend a couple hours fixing the hack and upgrading everything today. I also transferred the hosting and officially welcomed it home (meaning I have full control over it now, which is a HUGE relief).
I also posted a new blog after 6 months of letting it sit there stagnant (kind of embarrassing). So, even though I make an effort not to mix personal with professional, I just wanted to share how excited I am to have it back up and running. I’ve also committed to a 30-day challenge of posting every day on there, which is a true challenge while I’m busy with new clients and our own business. I guess that’s what mornings and evenings are for!
